Scrutiny

Historical summary based on the former Our work section, not a verbatim copy.

From 2006, the Commission had a formal role scrutinising and reporting on government's performance against its sustainable development commitments. It assessed the sustainability of government operations and reviewed departments' action plans.

Independent reports made progress and shortfalls visible, while advice before publication helped departments improve their performance.
