Our Aims
Historical summary based on the former About us section, not a verbatim copy.
The Commission sought to build government's ability to put sustainable development into practice, support important policy breakthroughs and, where part of its remit, hold government to account for progress.
It did this through evidence-based advice, skills and capability building, and independent scrutiny. It did not make policy on behalf of government or regulate individuals and businesses.
